Potential Bets for 11/19/24
I haven’t written one of these in a while, mainly because I don’t want to completely overdue the gambling angle of the website and just to not burn myself out on just doing picks. I do have an interesting story about recruiting for college football potentially coming out within the next couple of days. Still, I wanted to give you guys some picks on what I find to be an interesting Tuesday of sports.
Oilers (-105) at Senators (+1.5) Over/Under: 6.5
I am going to take the Senators in this game. In the standings, they are very similar teams, with the Oilers having a three-point edge on the Senators, but I think the fact that it’s one of those Canada rivalries in Ottawa and the Senators are desperate for a win, as they are on a small two-game skid right now… I think everything in terms of momentum would be in the Senators favor. I will admit, the fact that Ottawa is at home swayed my pick, because Canada gets up for these types of games, especially for one close in the standings. The Senators did get shut out last game 4-0, and they need to get their offense going, so I am going to take the Senator’s Money line and the over on this game, as I believe that it will be an offensive showdown because the Senators need a big jumpstart to their offense.
Pick: Senators Money line and Over 6.5.
NCAAM: Purdue (+5.5) at Marquette (-220) Over/Under: 152.5
I get that the Boilermakers are on the road. I understand Marquette is a very talented team. I am taking Purdue straight up in this game. They are a +180 moneyline, and I believe they get the outright win. Forward Trey Kaufman-Renn is shooting a staggering 58.3% from the field so far, I don’t think Marquette is slowing him down. He is proving to be one of the best forwards in the country early in the season. On the other side of the ball, I expect Braden Smith to be able to hold his own against Kam Jones enough defensively to be able to keep this game in striking distance throughout the first half and early point in the second until Smith can start finding Kaufman-Renn for easy buckets down low. I think Purdue wins by 4.
Pick: Purdue Money Line (+180)
NCAAM: East Texas A&M at Connecticut (-38) Over/Under: 145.5
The question is, what is UCONN going to win by? I think they cover the thirty-eight-point spread, though. Dan Hurley is one of the greatest College Basketball coaches in recent history, and I think he has another team with the ability to make a deep tournament run if not another national title run. Alex Karkban is a beast at the forward position, Tarris Reed Jr is averaging almost ten rebounds a game, and Hassan Diarra is distributing the ball at a solid clip for the Huskies. The one problem I can foresee with UCONN is that despite Diarra being their leader in assists, he is only averaging 5.5 a game. This is a team that relies heavily on being able to create their own shot, which is something I can see being a problem against higher-end teams, but the amount of talent they have on the floor completely overwhelms East Texas A&M and this should be the easiest game on their schedule.
Pick: Connecticut -38
Pick of the Day/Parlay of the day
I think the pick of the day is going to be UCONN -38. There is just no way this game is close, the question is how much are the Huskies going to try in the second half. They will be up huge at halftime, and at that point, they may decide to rest their starters, and it will be up to their bench to cover the spread. I believe they will do it, and I think UCONN proves that you need to be a national title contender to beat them tonight. Parlay of the day would honestly go to the other three picks I have on the board. I love Parlaying Purdue Money Line, Senators Money Line and the Over in the Senators game all together. I think this is going to give you the most potential money on the day, and I think it has a massive potential to hit at well.
